Premier League - Darwin Nunez verlaat Liverpool en verkast naar Al-Hilal

"Iedereen bij de club wil Darwin bedanken voor zijn bijdragen en wenst hem en zijn familie het allerbeste voor de toekomst." Met deze woorden zwaait Liverpool zijn aanvaller uit via haar sociale media. The Reds plukten Nunez in de zomer van 2022 voor een bedrag van om en bij de 85 miljoen euro weg bij het Portugese Benfica. Op Anfield wist de Uruguayaan de hoge verwachtingen echter nooit helemaal in te lossen. Toch was hij in 143 wedstrijden goed voor 40 doelpunten en 26 assists. Hij verlaat Liverpool met een titel, een League Cup en een Supercup op zak.

Nunez trekt nu richting Saoedi-Arabië, waar hij de kleuren van Al-Hilal zal verdedigen. Hij wordt er onder meer ploegmaat van Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (beiden ex-Genk), Theo Hernandez en Aleksandar Mitrovic (ex-Anderlecht).

PGA Tour - Thomas Detry klimt naar zestiende plaats in Memphis

Thomas Detry is zaterdag van de 22e naar de zestiende plaats geklommen in het FedEx St. Jude Championship (20 miljoen dollar). Hij liet een derde ronde van 68 slagen noteren op de TPC Southwind golfbaan in het Amerikaanse Memphis.
