Cyriel Dessers verruilt Rangers voor Panathinaikos

De voormalige spits van KRC Genk maakte in 2023 de overstap naar de Rangers. Hij speelde in totaal zo'n 116 wedstrijden voor de Schotse topclub, waarin hij goed was voor 52 doelpunten en 17 assists.

Na de uitschakeling tegen Club Brugge in de laatste voorronde van de Champions League besloot de club om niet meer verder te gaan met de Nigeriaanse international. Het Griekse Panathinaikos legde volgens mediaberichten een transfersom van 4,2 miljoen op tafel voor de 30-jarige aanvaller. Hij zal de komende drie seizoenen het truitje van De Groenen dragen.
