US Open - Alcaraz geniet van vele ontmoetingen met rivaal Sinner

"Ik zie jou vaker dan mijn eigen familie", grapte Alcaraz. "Maar het is ook fijn om samen op de baan te staan, om te zien hoe jij steeds beter wordt." De 22-jarige Spanjaard dankte ook zijn team en familie. "Jullie maken me in alle opzichten beter."

Sinner moest zich bij de nederlaag neerleggen. Hij verloor ook de nummer 1-positie op de wereldranglijst aan Alcaraz. "Ik heb mijn best gedaan, meer zat er niet in", was zijn conclusie.
