Mondiaux de mountainbike - Wout Alleman termine 9e du marathon, Frans Claes 19e et Julia Grégoire 23e chez les dames

Samedi entre Verbier et Grimentz sur 125 kilomètres, Wout Allemand, 29 ans, champion de Belgique de la spécialité, a bouclé la distance en 6h09:42.09, à près de huit minutes du vainqueur. Un deuxième Belge a réussi à se hisser dans le top 20, Frans Claes est 19e en 6h16:02.1.

Wout Janssen est lui 26e et Simon Grégroire 39e d'une course remportée par l'Américain Keegan Swenson en 6h01:44.3 devant l'Italien Samuele Porro, 2e à 25 secondes, et le Colombien Leonardo Hector Paez Leon, 3e à 3:42.

Chez les dames, Julia Grégoire, 21 ans, soeur cadette de Simon et double championne de Belgique de la spécialité, s'est classée 23e en 8h09:04.9.

L'Américaine Kate Courtney l'a emporté en 7h10:11.1 devant la Suissesse Anna Weinbeer, 2e à 3:44, et l'Autrichienne Mona Mitterwallner, 3e à 4:59 minutes.
