Giro - Astana neemt Arjen Livyns op in selectie

Livyns, die nog wacht op een eerste profzege, tekende de voorbije twee seizoenen (in het shirt van Lotto) present in de Vuelta, maar Giro of Tour is voor hem nog onbekend terrein. Hij vormt een team met de Ecuadoraan Harold Martin Lopez, de Uruguayaan Thomas Silva en de Italianen Davide Ballerini, Alberto Bettiol (ritwinnaar in 2021), Matteo Malucelli, Christian Scaroni (vorig jaar ritwinnaar) en Diego Ulissi. Die laatste won al acht etappes in de Giro, voor het laatst in 2020.

De Giro start vrijdag (8 mei) in Bulgarije en eindigt drie weken later in Rome.
